Garden Flavors Palette: Create and Taste

During this workshop, participants will explore aromatic and culinary herbs grown in the Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Section. They will learn to recognize plant scents and flavors while discovering their importance in nutrition and health. In the hands-on part of the session, participants will create and taste spice blends on a slice of bread. This educational activity is recommended during the plant growing season. 

The workshop is adapted to different age groups, making it suitable for participants of all ages.

The World of Scents: Create Your Own Scented Sachet

In this educational activity, participants will learn which parts of plants contain the most essential oils and how these natural aromas can enhance everyday life. 

Through touching and smelling different plants, they will develop their sensory skills. Then, by creating a personalized scented sachet from dried plants, they will experience the creativity and joy of perfume-making. 

The workshop is tailored to different age groups, making it suitable for everyone.

What’s Hiding in Your Teacup?

During this educational activity, participants will have the chance to taste a variety of herbal teas collected from the KU Botanical Garden and guess which tea they are drinking. They will also learn about different types of tea herbs, their uses, and their beneficial effects on well-being and health.
