The department has nearly 420 taxa. The plans are arranged according to the shape of the Baltic Life Tree symbol, with individual branches for beneficial, kitchen, rare, poisonous, aromatic and other Lithuanian and world medicinal plants. The section has an established phytotherapyc labyrinth with a sensitive path. The Asteraceae family includes relictic medical plants – Artemisia abrotanum and Balsamita major. The biggest Laminaceae family has over 100 species of plants. The exclusive exhibition has more than 17 species of Mentha, Nepeta cataria. The experimental permaculture exhibition in the section is being developed. The exhibitions of this department, of course, primarily attract gardeners, regardless of where they grow herbs and spices – near the home or on the windowsill, or buy in a market. The Botanical Garden offers a unique opportunity to expand your knowledge and supplement home collections.
